Want to be a Leader?
Being a Chorus Council officer is one
way to serve and have a say in the goings-on of Cambridge Chorus. Officers will help plan and organize monthly
social events, bi-annual service projects and design spirit-wear. To be considered for an officer position,
please fill out the Chorus Council Officer Application. Email me at: cambridgehighchorus@gmail.com if you need an application. You can submit your completed application via email or
you can bring it with you when you do your placement
audition. May 15th is the
deadline by which all applications must be received. In addition to officers, each class will have
a secretary, librarian and historian.
These roles will be decided upon after school starts in the fall.

Cambridge Chorus FAQs
1.
Will there be auditions for chorus
at Cambridge?
Yes.
Please don’t worry; auditions are not to keep people out of chorus. They are to ensure proper ensemble
placement.
2.
What is the placement audition like?
Students
will sing scales- Major, minor and chromatic
1 or 2
sight-reading examples similar to middle school All-State examples
Vocalization-
to determine range

How long will the placement audition take?
5-10
minutes

Do I need to bring anything with me when I do
my placement audition?
Yes. Please bring the completed audition form,
signed by your parent/guardian.

year?
Until we
finish placement auditions and scheduling, it’s impossible to have a definite
answer. My plan is that we will offer a
range of classes based on ability and experience.

Welcome to Cambridge Chorus!
Dear Cambridge Choristers,
I am
honored and extremely excited to be joining the Cambridge faculty! Starting a new school is a big responsibility
for us all. We, the students, parents
and staff will set the tone for the school for years to come. Our tradition of excellence will begin in the
fall!
I was able to meet several future Cambridge singers on March 21, and I’m looking forward to meeting even more of you in the next few weeks. Whether you are a rising 9th grader or transferring from another high school, please know that there is a place for you in the Cambridge Choral department. As we finish auditions, we’ll have a better idea about scheduling and placement, so stay tuned!

Meet the Director
Dominique Petite received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Florida State University in Choral Music Education, where she studied conducting with Judy Bowers, André Thomas and Kevin Fenton and voice with Barbara Ford and Roy Delp. She has 10 years of teaching experience at the middle and high school levels, most recently at Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County, where she taught Chorus, AP Music Theory and Intro to Theatre.
While at Brookwood, Ms. Petite prepared choirs for performance at the GMEA State Conference. Her choral groups consistently receive Superior ratings at LGPE for both Performance and Sight-Reading. Her students have enjoyed success individually as well, attending the Governor’s Honors Program in voice as well as having a high level of participation in All-State Chorus, All-State Reading Chorus and ACDA Honor Choirs. Many of Ms. Petite’s former students are majoring in the performing arts in college. She has sent students to nationally recognized universities, as well as outstanding Georgia schools, including The University of the Arts, Montclair State University, Belmont University, Florida State University, Mercer University, Georgia Southern University and The University of Georgia.
In addition to teaching, Ms. Petite has adjudicated for GMEA Solo/Ensemble festival and has been a guest clinician for Metro-Atlanta choral groups. She is a member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and Chamber Chorus and has traveled with the ASOC to perform in Miami, New York (Carnegie Hall) and Berlin (with the Berlin Philharmonic). Ms. Petite’s husband, Amit is an engineer and a professional Tabla player. She and her husband enjoy traveling, cooking (and eating!), gardening and spending time with their two cats, Pepper and Mouse!
